These days people are only sending to Private schools even though the tuition fees are high because of the quality of education and facilities in government schools.
But there are some model government schools that have maintained a very good standard of education and facilities and people are sending kids to that schools and have a high demand for admissions.
One such school is in a remote village in Tamilnadu and so are couple of other schools in each state.
But the number is a single digit only. Success of these schools should be inspirational enough for government to improve, but alas, it might not have the budget to equally implement it across the government schools.
But local panchayat and villages can definitely take into their hands and improve the facilities, English speaking kids and digitally connected to the world. This small step can improve the lives of the kids in the villages to be able to do a better farming, or as an entrepreneur or any other job. This directly increases the chances of employability of the next generation instead of becoming part of the unemployed youth
Each smart village, should ensure primary, high school and higher secondary schools have the standard of a good private school. Should have good teachers who teach fundamentals real well, good furniture, good restrooms, latest study material, digitally connected classes for students to explore the concepts further and innovate. Isn't it a small step towards a golden future for the coming generations?
We cannot let government come and improve everything, every village should take such initiatives, and use crowd funding, donations to improve the schools and attract good teachers. This increases the %s that the students get and also understand the basics well. This further increases the confidence of the students and their employability / entrepreneurship and well defined thought process which will make their life and people around much better
Smart villages or Smart cities is not just about the infrastructure but the smart methods employed in each and every aspect of day to day life and surge towards a better India
